Founded in 1987 with the desire to deliver the rice we grow directly to consumers nationwide, we have dedicated our effors to the development and sales of various processed rice products. Our commitment to quality has led professional chefs not only in Akita Prefecture but from all over Japan to consistently choose our products.

Starting in 2009, we embarked on the creation of processed goods, including gluten-free foods. In 2016, we were honored with an award from Food Industry Affairs Bureau of MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) for our endeavors in this area. Our share in the domestic gluten-free market stands at number one. Since 2014, we have also been manufacturing ready-to-eat meal packs (retort), ensuring the safety of those with food allergies.
We hold ISO 14001 certification for environmental management systems and ISO 22000 certification for food safety management systems.

The Allure of Ogata Village Akitakomachi Rice

Ogata Village emerged through the reclamation of Hachiro Lagoon, which was once the second largest lake in Japan. The expansive land spanning 82km around it is blessed with mineral-rich soil, abundant water, breezes from the Sea of Japan, and the radiant summer sun. Cultivated in this bountiful soil, “Akitakomachi” rice features a well-balanced composition of starches like amylopectin and amylose. This balance ensures that the rice remains tender even when cooled and retains its delicious flavor over time. Ogata Village Akitakomachi Rice Producers strives “to create an agricultural industry that inspires dreams and hope among the youth” and aims to become a unique leader in rice through rice processing, development, and marketing endeavors.
